Cosby – A Leicestershire Village is a new book by local author Brian Screaton about the south Leicestershire village of Cosby, where he has lived for around fifty years. The book takes the reader on a fascinating time-travelling tour around the village in days gone by, with 216 pages containing over 500 black and white and colour illustrations including vintage postcards and photographs, many of which have never appeared in print before. The history of the buildings and places depicted is explored, as well as the stories of some of the people and families who have lived in the village.

  
 


This is the first book of its kind about Cosby and will no doubt bring back many memories for local people, and introduce other readers to the intriguing history of this Leicestershire village. The centre of the village has been a conservation area for many years, and contains a considerable number of listed buildings. The village as a whole has also retained its essential character and identity, despite many changes.
